Why do you think new teachers are likely to leave low income school districts?

According to a new study from the National Education Association, a teachers union, half of new U.S. teachers are likely to quit within the first five years because of poor working conditions and low salaries.

If you are an educator, or have experience with new teachers, I am interested in reading your views as to why new teachers leave.  What are some suggestions to help retain our new teachers?
